Vatted Malts
These are a mix of malt whisky from different single malt distilleries. They differ from true Blends in that they contain no grain whisky. This is the category that became controversial when Diageo labelled their Cardhu Vatted Malt as 'Pure Malt'. As a result the Scotch Whisky Association actually refers to these as Blended Malts, but we think vatted is a little simpler!
